Corpo Nazionale Soccorso Alpino e Speleologico (CNSAS) is the Italian national mountain and cave rescue service, a historic institution operating across alpine, speleological, and remote environments throughout the country. Through a network of highly specialized teams, the organization provides emergency rescue, medical response, and technical support in some of Italy’s most complex and fragile territories.

For the new national headquarters in Milan, I was commissioned to create a large-scale illustration for the main hall, conceived as a visual narrative of the CNSAS universe. The artwork brings together the different operational environments, specializations, and landscapes connected to the organization, shaping them into a single interconnected composition.

The project was developed as a highly tailored piece, where every element required careful balance — not only from a compositional and aesthetic perspective, but also in terms of symbolism and representation. The illustration was designed to convey the complexity, coordination, and human dimension of the CNSAS, reflecting the deep respect I feel for the women and men who are part of it and for the extraordinary sense of service embodied by their work.
