Following the “Vaia” storm at the end of 2018, a threat looms over the forests of North-East Italy. This is the “Ips typographus”, a beetle that attacks the most widespread and important species in Alpine woods: the European spruce or “Picea abies”. This is the cover I designed for the book-diary written by Pietro Lacasella and Luigi Torreggiani published by People Pub in collaboration with L’Altramontagna magazine. Two different points of view, one anthropological and one scientific, unravel the complexity and offer a new perspective on the future of Men, Forests and Insects, protagonists of this adventure and actors of life on our planet.
